(HYBRID CROSS: English Shepherd x Cocker Spaniel
Shockards are mild mannered, somewhat shy medium sized dogs.  They may have the temperament of the English shepherd, a family orientated, loyal and protective dog with the cheerful, tail-wagging eagerness to please of the Cocker Spaniel. They are not bred for guard dogs but stick to their owners and take direction well.  May have shorter coats or the longer double coat.  They need moderate exercise and room to roam and explore, and require some grooming and have moderate to low shedding.  They are good around other pets and children when socialized as puppies or younger dogs.
