Shockerds are a medium sized dog with a mild mannered temperament. They are intelligent and loyal and have great protective instincts of the English Shepherd.  Left alone, they may become timid or standoffish, but ever watchful of their master and always at their heel.  They may have the temperament of the English shepherd, a family orientated, loyal and protective dog with the cheerful, tail-wagging eagerness to please of the Cocker Spaniel.
